One of my favorite places to inject filler definitely has to be the cheeks (mid-face area)! Aesthetically speaking, the cheekbones are said to represent about 70% of facial beauty. As we age, gravity along with atrophy of our fat pads, loss of collagen, & loss of skin elasticity causes the cheeks to gradually drop. Replacing lost volume in the cheeks can help to soften the nasolabial folds (the lines on each side of our nose that go down to each corner of our mouth) as well as lighten the dark circles underneath the eyes (but not completely alleviate them). Cheek filler can furthermore lift and give support to the lower face.
Patient’s in their 20’s typically can get away with 1 syringe for a little cheek contouring. If you are age 30+ you are going to need 2+ syringes of cheek filler to actually see a difference. The exact amount needed depends on the individual and his/her own unique anatomy.
